Requirements

The minimum requirement for the position is a Grade 12 certificate.

A post-matric qualification and experience in asset management will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of asset management and administrative duties, including:

  • Maintaining the asset register and allocating barcodes.
  • Checking documentation against inventory received.
  • Receiving assets on RCRI.
  • Conducting annual asset verification and quarterly spot checks.
  • Managing the disposal and donation of redundant or obsolete furniture and equipment.
  • Capturing the movement of assets.
  • Maintaining official notebooks.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidates should have knowledge of:

  • Procurement procedures
  • Administrative procedures
  • Financial management
  • Public Service procedures and prescripts
  • Departmental policies and procedures

The position also requires good communication skills and computer literacy, as well as the ability to apply policies, communicate with people at different levels, and work both independently and as part of a team.
