Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy Assistant Lecturer Vacancies 2026

The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS), on behalf of the Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy (MNMA), is inviting qualified Tanzanian professionals to apply for three Assistant Lecturer positions. The vacancies are available in Business Administration, Tourism, and Political Science and Public Administration.

  • Assistant Lecturer (Business Administration) – 1 post
  • Assistant Lecturer (Tourism) – 1 post
  • Assistant Lecturer (Political Science and Public Administration) – 1 post

All three positions carry the salary scale PHTS 2.1.

1. Assistant Lecturer – Business Administration

Number of posts: 1

Qualifications

Applicants must hold:

  • A Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or International Business from recognised institutions.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.8 at Bachelor’s degree level.
  • A minimum GPA of 4.0 at Master’s degree level, out of 5.0.
  • The Bachelor’s degree must relate to the Master’s degree.

Duties

The successful applicant will:

  • Teach up to NTA Level 8 (Bachelor’s Degree).
  • Prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises.
  • Conduct research, seminars and related studies.
  • Carry out consultancy and community services under supervision.
  • Supervise student projects.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

2. Assistant Lecturer – Tourism

Number of posts: 1

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:

  • Tourism
  • Cultural and Heritage Management
  • Tourism and History
  • Tourism and Hospitality Management

The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.8 at Bachelor’s degree level and 4.0 at Master’s degree level, out of 5.0.

The Master’s degree must relate to the Bachelor’s degree.

Duties

The duties include teaching up to NTA Level 8, preparing learning resources, conducting research and seminars, carrying out supervised consultancy and community services, supervising student projects and performing other assigned duties.

3. Assistant Lecturer – Political Science and Public Administration

Number of posts: 1

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science and Public Administration from recognised institutions.

Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.8 at Bachelor’s degree level and 4.0 at Master’s degree level, out of 5.0.

The Master’s degree must relate to the Bachelor’s degree.

Duties

The position involves teaching up to NTA Level 8, preparing learning resources, conducting research and seminars, carrying out consultancy and community services under supervision, supervising student projects and performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.

General Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania.
  • Not be above 45 years of age.
  • Upload certified copies of relevant certificates and transcripts.
  • Provide professional registration and training certificates where applicable.
  • Provide a birth certificate.
  • Upload a recent passport-size photograph on the Recruitment Portal.
  • Provide details of three reputable referees with reliable contact information.
  • Have foreign academic certificates recognised by the relevant authorities, including TCU, NECTA or NACTVET, where applicable.
  • Applicants applying for posts with GPA requirements must attach a GPA calculation certificate from TCU.

Form IV and Form VI result slips, testimonials and partial transcripts are not accepted.

Public servants are not allowed to apply, and retired public servants should not apply.
